1. Bring the Right Supplies
You'll need laundry detergent, dryer sheets (optional), and your dirty clothes in a bag or basket. We have vending machines if you forget detergent, but bringing your own saves money.
2. Choose the Right Washer Size
This is the biggest money-saving tip. Don't use an 8-load washer for a small personal load — you're paying for capacity you don't need. Here's a quick guide:
- •3-Load (Standard): Personal laundry, couples, small loads
- •6-Load (Large): Family laundry, combining multiple loads
- •8-Load (Giant): Comforters, sleeping bags, saddle pads, bulk items
3. Sort Before You Arrive
Sort your laundry at home into darks, lights, and whites. This saves time at the laundromat and prevents color bleeding.
4. Don't Overload the Machine
Fill the washer about 3/4 full. Clothes need room to move around for proper cleaning. Overstuffing leads to poorly washed clothes and wasted money.
5. Use Cold Water for Most Loads
Cold water works great for most everyday laundry and costs less. Save warm or hot water for whites, towels, and heavily soiled items.
6. Bring Quarters or Use the App
Our machines accept quarters, dollar coins, and the DexterPay app. The app is the easiest option — just scan the machine and pay from your phone. We also have a change machine that takes $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills.
7. Don't Leave Your Laundry Unattended Too Long
While our laundromat is open 24 hours and has a safe, clean environment, it's good etiquette to remove your clothes promptly when the cycle ends. This frees up machines for others.
8. Use the Folding Tables
We have plenty of folding tables and a clean, comfortable space. Fold your laundry right away to prevent wrinkles — it saves you ironing time later.
9. Consider Drop-Off Service
Short on time? Our wash & fold drop-off service is available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7am to 11am. We'll wash, dry, and fold everything for you. First-time customers get 20% off!
10. Come During Off-Peak Hours
Early mornings and weekday afternoons tend to be less busy. Since we're open 24 hours, you can even come late at night if you prefer having the place to yourself.
